I remember Don from ROTC in my last year or two at South Shore--a nice guy who seemed pretty sure of himself. He lived long enough to create a class profile outlining a distinguished career and touching on some of the many health concerns he'd had. He died January 28 of this year. Too bad he didn't manage to make it to the reunion.

Edward - I don't remember Doneldon at all if I knew him so I'm really glad you did and that you honored him accordingly.

I do remember Doneldon in his ROTC uniform and because he was taller than me! Always seemed like a nice guy. So sad he is gone too soon!  Do appreciate this sight for ability to honor/post memories of so many.

I remember him well.  We were in the same division, Miss Nelson's, and we ere in ROTC.

He wanted to be a Lutheran minister when he was in high school.  He signed my yearbook "a man of God."  Miss Nelson, who was Lutheran, smiled as she told me that "people change their minds."  Although he never became ordainend, he devoted his life to social service.

I'm so sorry to hear of Don's death. He communicated with me on this site last fall about his career and he advised me of his serious physical issues. He indicated he was terminal and that he only had a short time. I am happy that I was able to contact him and I am so sorry that we we're unable to connect at the reunion. I had so much in common with him and he was a close friend in my last two years at South Shore. "God Bless you" Don and may you rest in peace. Your work is completed in this existence and you have gone on to a better place. Soft and safe may be your resting place with the Lord.

What a beautiful rembrance of Doneldon, Paul. I'm glad he was able to act on his compassion for humanity through social services.
