In Memory

Cynthia Albritton

Cynthia Albritton

This is a very sad month for us.  Cynthia Albritton passed away on April 21st in Chicago, after a long illness.  Many of you might not have known Cynthia's artistic talent and how she became a member of the "rock groupies."  Her soft spoken demeanor didn't quite fit her public persona.  Condolences to her friends and family.

Oh Cynthia, you leave me in tears. I have had only great respect for your courage and artistic vision. You have been a true and authentic Chicago artist and you will be remembered and honored by the wider community of artists. I treasure our private emails wherein we discussed technical things like the best quality dental plasters and the laughable aspects of taking jeltrate impressions. I did not know Cynthia very well. I hope she found peace, love and happiness before she died. As an only child she seemed to make her own family and now her days of searching are over. May Cynthia "Rock On."

So sorry to hear about Cynthia's passing. She and my sister were both broupies during the sixties. Barb would run into her sometimes at various events.  Cynythia was one of a kind...true to her self. RIP.

I remember her Beatles haircut and "groupiness."
She surely loved her dreams and followed her heart. I truly enjoyed seeing her at our 50th reunion and reading her brochure. The news articles around the US and from London were quite entertaining this week. So, she left us laughing.
Rest in Peace.

I am very saddend to hear of Cynthia's passing. Our Class of June 1965 has lost two more beloved members this month of April 2021. All our classmates are important and contributed in their own way their skills, knowledge, and spirit to our great democratic society and culture and all of our backgrounds are rich and strong with years of experience and wisdom. May Cynthia Rest in Peace knowing her fellow classmates appreciated her spirit, smile, and wit.

i was so shocked to see her passing in a message on my fb page.with last names beginning with A we got to know each other than many of our classmates sitting on the other side of the room.i loved her kindness and sense of fun and humor.the last time I saw her was the week after our reunion.we met for coffee and then went back to her apt.we spent time talking and looking at her articles pictures etc,she was talking about writing a book.i don't know if it happened.she was very happy with the life she created for herself.her mother was never happy about it so they rarely spoke.but she made her own big family of friends who loved her.we all loved her and will miss her.good bye fellow member of the A last name group!🍷❤️💐🌈>p>

While I didn't know Cynthia, her life and her art were well recognized in a New York Times obituary. She clearly found her niche, and wasn't I surprised to learn what that was! Cynthia was her own unique person and I honor her, and hope that she rests in peace.
